It Is Too Easy to Lose Your Golf Swing

Three weeks ago I had one of my worst rounds in about three months. Nothing felt right and my shots were all over the course. Tiger and Phil seemed to be having the same problem at the FedEx BMW Tournament. They however, simply go back to their swing coach and spend 7-8 hours a day (a typical white or blue collar work day) trying to get their swings back in sync.

Not so easy for the average golfer. In my case, I was able to go back to my golf driving mat, net and PRO-HEAD Trainer to try to get my swing back in sync. I found that I had mistakenly moved much closer to the ball thereby making my spine angle much more upright and more difficult to maintain. I was not setting up in the footprints I painted on the mat.

Without my mat with footprints, my net and Trainer, and without the luxury of a swing coach, it probably would have taken me many more poor rounds to find my problem. Perhaps I would have never found it. But I did find it and I am back to shooting my handicap or less.

If you do not have a net or mat or PRO-HEAD Trainer, have a friend take some video of your swing, when it is “in the groove.” Then when you are out of sync, take another video and compare the two. Yes, it is much too easy to lose your swing. But the good news is that you can get it back.
